The glutinous rice for brewing Shaoxing rice wine is required to be refined, fresh, glutinous and pure. Quality glutinous rice is low in proteins and fats and rich in starch, which contains mostly amylopectin. After fermentation, large amount of oligosaccharide and dextrin are generated, making the wine nutritious, mellow, thick and fragrant, which is really of top-grade quality.
To make sure the wine is healthy, safe and of good quality, the company has established six green glutinous rice raw material bases in major grain producing areas such as Wujin of Jiangsu Province, Tongling, Liu’an, Huaiyuan of Anhui Province and Yingcheng,Wuxue of Hubei Province, strengthening quality control from the start.
